Fortaleza

Fortaleza is a highly respected artisanal tequila brand rooted in tradition and heritage. Founded by Guillermo Sauza, a fifth generation descendant of the legendary Sauza tequila family, Fortaleza was established to preserve the original methods of tequila production in Jalisco Mexico. The distillery, located in the town of Tequila, operates using time honored techniques that reflect the true essence of old world craftsmanship.

Fortaleza Tequila is made from 100 percent Blue Weber agave grown in the rich volcanic soils of the region. The agave is slow roasted in traditional brick ovens, crushed using a tahona stone, naturally fermented in open air wooden tanks, and distilled in small copper pot stills. These meticulous methods create a tequila known for its authentic agave forward character, earthy depth, and complex layers of citrus, olive, butter, and pepper.

The portfolio includes Blanco, Reposado, Anejo, and limited Winter Blend releases, each offering remarkable balance and texture.
